The Giving Tree at Covenant Village is continuing to “bloom” as residents, employees, board members, future residents, and family members of residents have responded to the Legacy of Care’s Season of Giving with donations in support of Covenant Village.

At the end of May, members of the Leadership Team gathered at the tree to add their ornaments and to share whom they honored or remembered with their donation and to which of the five pillars they had donated.

My Father Loved Woodworking…

Kim Kling, Senior Director of Finance and Marketing, shared an inspirational testimony of making her donation in memory of her father and the reason she selected the Woodworking/Hobby Shop as the designation for her gift:

“I donated to the Capital Support with a special designation to the Woodworking/Hobby Shop that will be built in the lower level of the new Stonecrest Villas. I donated in memory of my dad.

“My dad loved woodworking, but never seemed to have time for it. One of my childhood memories was one Christmas when he made my sister and me a kitchen set (Refrigerator and Stove) out of wood he had lying around. It wasn’t fancy, but it was something he made for us, and we loved playing house with it.  As we grew up, he made us bookshelves and wall shelves that we still use to this day.

“I chose to donate to the Woodworking/Hobby Shop so that our residents can have the same opportunity to use their skills to provide handmade gifts to their loved ones as my dad did for me.”

Covenant Village employees are dedicated to giving back and supporting the people they love to serve. In addition to individual donations that employees make during the Season of Giving, they are also planning a hot dog lunch for employees in late June to provide another opportunity for participation in giving.

Why I Support Legacy of Care

“I am proud to say Covenant Village has been my ‘second home’ for 32 years. I came here as a recent college graduate, thinking this would be just one stop along my professional journey.  Little did I know that Covenant Village would take hold of my heart and allow me to grow along with it for this long.  From the beginning, the Residents, my co-workers, the families, and business partners have become like family, and I have been embraced by the welcoming and supportive environment and culture. So, it is only natural that I would want to support the continued success of Dr. Stuart’s vision and Covenant Village’s mission to provide a community where all members live as God intended, in a culture committed to respect, compassion, safety, and possibilities.

I am excited that we have established a dedicated season to give back to the community we so love. This season gives everyone an opportunity to say, ‘thank you’, ‘way to go’, ‘we believe’, and/or ‘don’t worry’ through monetary donations, whether they are small or large, AND we do it together!  It is my hope that with this Season of Giving, Covenant Village will be blessed abundantly, giving way to continued excellence in care and services for many generations to come.  — Jenn Barker, Senior Director of Human Resources

“Supporting Covenant Village’s Legacy of Care means being part of something deeply meaningful—it’s our way of saying to every resident, ‘You matter to us.’  As employees, it’s a heartfelt promise that we’re here not just to do our jobs but to walk alongside them with compassion, dignity, and love.” —Matt Gibbons, COO

“I was familiar with Covenant Village long before I worked here. Having been acquainted with many past and current residents, I knew what a special place it is.  After working at Covenant Village for over 17 years, I am privileged to be a small part of the excellent work that is performed daily.  As a non-profit organization, it is essential that Covenant Village succeeds in attaining the financial security to continue serving residents’ needs for future generations. —Kevin Stewart, Health Services Administrator
