Results from the inaugural Legacy of Care Season of Giving

We’re celebrating the success of the inaugural Legacy of Care Season of Giving and thanking our residents, staff, resident families, Board members, volunteers, and friends for ensuring the future of Covenant Village through giving.

At a recent event, CEO Dale Melton shared updates on fundraising and thanked staff members, volunteers, and the Legacy of Care Committee for their energy and commitment to this new philanthropic initiative. He also provided information about the more than $138,000 that was raised from 45 donors in support of the five giving pillars of Legacy of Care:

  • $36,658 for Benevolent Assistance
  • $4,233 for Workforce Investment
  • $53,684 for Enrichment and Innovation
  • $17,000 for Capital Support
  • $26,600 for the Greatest Need

Since the beginning of the fiscal year on October 1, 2023, total giving to Covenant Village from 97 donors has exceeded $1,560,000.

“More than 40 years ago, a group of committed businessmen raised the funding to build Covenant Village,” Dale shared, reminding attendees of the philanthropic generosity that supported the creation of a residential retirement community. “The Legacy of Care is a continuation of that generosity to preserve the place that has served as home now for several generations of residents.”

During the celebration, donors received their ornaments displayed on the Giving Tree throughout the Season of Giving between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Each recipient had the opportunity to share tributes for those whom they honored through their donations.
