These initial projects of the Master Plan resulted from the senior living community’s “Foresight 2020” strategic visioning process that included a representative team of Board members, residents, future residents, senior leadership, and business leaders from the wider Gastonia community. The plan is divided into three major phases over the next ten years.
Phase I projects include:
- Renovations of the existing cottage exteriors (replacement windows, siding, soffits, and gutters – COMPLETED)
- Conversion of the ground-level hallway in the B-Building to Founder’s Hall Health Care residences (licensed for Assisted Living – COMPLETED)
- The renovation of “Main Street” amenities such as the main dining room, bar and lounge, and the library
- Front entrance retention wall restoration and campus signage
- A new outdoor pavilion
- New employee parking and enhanced parking and circular drive behind the resident apartments
- A more efficient service lane
- 21 new residential Stonecrest Villas
These projects comprise the first major renovation in over 20 years and the first new residences since 1996. The construction of these enhancements would not be possible without the vision, encouragement, and support of Covenant Village’s Board of Directors, its residents, leadership and staff, future residents, and the wider community of donors and friends.
