Continued Resurgence in COVID Cases

What started a couple of weeks ago with an uptick in COVID cases has continued with a second round of resurgence this week. Now the majority of positive cases are in our Health Center (HC).

As a result of this most recent resurgence, we are asking all independent living (IL) Residents to refrain from visiting the HC for now. Unless it is a direct family situation, we believe it would be best not to intermingle with HC Residents.

Fortunately, all appear to be exhibiting mild to little symptoms. Each is on a 10-day quarantine that is being monitored by our HC leadership.

If you need to come to the Nurse’s Clinic or Legacy Therapy, please do so by going directly there and by wearing a mask. Otherwise, call the Arbor Wing Nurses Station before you come.

Overall, the country is seeing a surge in COVID cases, and particularly hospitalizations, as is the State of North Carolina. There is growing concern for a resurgence this fall/winter.

We encourage everyone, particularly those 60 & older, to consult their primary care physician (PCP) if you have any concerns, questions, or symptoms.

We continue to monitor the situation on campus and in the larger community. Our Flu Clinics are October 9th (HC) and October 10th (IL & Staff). Edgeway Pharmacy will be on campus to provide a COVID Booster Clinic on November 2nd (HC) and November 6th (IL & Staff). You may want to consider—with your PCP’s advice—the RSV vaccination this year. We hope to have that clinic scheduled for late November.

Covenant Village is strong and resilient, because you are strong and resilient. Even now, in these instances, we see how and why Covenant Village is Where Life Is Filled With Promise!

We will continue to provide the latest information via community memos; the Covenant Village website (; on our Facebook page; and our Resident Portal—Wellzesta.
