Over the weekend, we were informed that a Cottage Resident tested positive. The Resident was infected from a source off-campus. Additionally, this Resident potentially exposed at least one other Cottage Resident. Both the Resident and potentially exposed Resident have been told to quarantine.
We do have some good news to balance out. Last week was our lowest number of new positive cases in the last six (6) weeks! We totaled five (5) new cases—three (3) Staff and two (2) Residents—one in the Health Center (HC) and one in independent living (Cottage).
That has also translated into additional hopeful signs. We currently only have 13 active COVID Cases—and only two (2) are Residents!
As we have shared all along, any positive cases, potential symptoms, or potential exposures are serious for us at Covenant Village. The health and safety of our Residents, Staff, and larger community continue to be our highest priority.
We CANNOT let our guard down. We have a long way to go—particularly as the Fall and Winter Seasons settle in!
We will continue to provide the latest information via community memos; Covenant Conversations on the internal TV channel and Facebook; as well as on Wellzesta, our new Resident communication portal; the Covenant Village website (https://covenantvillagenc.com/); and on our Facebook page.
For those of us who may have eased off our compliance with the above infection control guidance, use this time to re-evaluate your efforts and actions on behalf of our entire Village! If you have been potentially exposed, you could be an asymptomatic carrier of the virus and could spread it to others—fellow Residents, Staff, and your Loved Ones!
We are only as good as you are and as I am. We will get through this—together! A committed community conquers COVID!!
This virus is real, and it is deadly. No one and no community are yet fully immune. You can help us all stop this menacing virus in our Village, by our diligence and vigilance!
• Wear a mask at ALL times
• Maintain a minimum 6 feet physical distancing
• Wash your hands frequently; sanitizer in between
• No group gathering
• Do NOT visit in someone else’s home, AND do NOT allow any visitors in your home!
All of these precautions will assist you and yours in having a blessed and safe Holiday Season! That is our prayer; that is our hope for you and yours!!
