To: Residents of Covenant Village From: Dale Melton, CEO
Date: December 14, 2020
Over the weekend, Covenant Village lost two additional cherished Residents. One was an independent living Resident who was temporarily rehabilitating in the Health Center (HC), and one was a full-time HC Resident. Both died due to complications from the COVID virus.
As we shared with you on Friday, we deeply mourn the loss of any life. We mourn in a profoundly different way the loss of any life due to COVID-19. We ache as we mourn the loss of these three precious Resident lives. We are indelibly marked by this moment.
In the midst of such loss, we celebrate their lives and contributions to our larger community.
We currently have 20 active cases, down from 33 at one-point last week. Six are Resident cases, and 14 are Staff.
This virus is real, and it is deadly. No one and no community are yet fully immune. You can help us all stop this menacing virus in our Village, by our diligence and vigilance!
- Wear a mask at ALL times
- Maintain a minimum 6 feet physical distancing
- Wash your hands frequently
- No group gathering
- Do NOT visit in someone else’s home, AND do NOT allow any visitors in your home!
I know you continue to share with me in prayers of support and affirmation—for these Residents and their respective Families and to hold up each Staff member here at Covenant Village for the tremendous care and services they provide!! As we so aspire, Living Longer Better—because we are Together! Deep, deep peace to all, Dale
